Because I live so far away from my family - about 6000 miles - I communicate with them through skype and occasionally phone. I find that verbal communication is the very best way to get ideas and thoughts across as you can see the whole person rather than just reading words. In all aspects of my life I feel this is true. The written word can also be very powerful but you need to always be mindful of how you phrase your sentences. They can be misconstrued easily. The other powerful aspect about the written word is having a back-up (i.e. photo copy or email saved) which can help in confused situations. I hope this helps!
